Juicy, finesse, purity.
Lunessence was established in 2014 in Summerland and their name pays homage to their philosophy, combining Luna (moon) and essence. The moon is also as an important part of the biodynamic farming they practice. There are no pesticides or herbicides used in their vineyards and ideally they use only native yeast, and no (or minimal) fining.
This Cabernet was aged 8 months in neutral Slovakian oak barrels.
Aromas of sweet black currents are melded with licorice, vanilla, plump cherries and pipe tobacco. The palate shows the same purity of fruit the nose does, It is elegant yet juicy and has great balance and finesse. Expect some grip from still youthful tannins.
